There have been great people down through the centuries. Some names, at least it would seem, will never be forgotten.  Nimrod, Alexander the Great, Julius Ceaser, Cleopatra, Catherine the Great, Albert Einstein, to name but a few. But when it comes to names of God, we seem to remember one or two and for the most part, we don't mention them much. We call him: Our Father Lord Jehovah Abba Yahweh We know he told Moses that his name is "I Am that I Am."(Exodus 3:14) It is of little surprise then that Jesus would use the same title again and again. I want you to imagine the following scenario; You receive a text on your phone: URGENT ...... URGENT..... URGENT.... RED ALERT.... RED ALERT.... THIS IS AN URGENT MESSAGE FROM THE IRISH GOVERNMENT. RUSSIA HAS LAUNCHED A MISSILE AT IRELAND AND WILL STRIKE IN FIVE MINUTES. MAY GOD HAVE MERCY ON US ALL. What would you do?  Who would you try to contact?  Who would you hold close for the remaining 4.59 seconds?  Would you think of your soul?  Would you think about eternity?  Would you consider praying? When we think of things that are "Man-made," we may think of great structures such as the Pyramids of Egypt. We may think of the Great Wall of China. More local to where I live is "Ballyhass Lakes." This is a man-made lake that was once  quarry. When I was younger I was asked "What in Heaven is man-made?" I was stunned. I couldn't understand how anything in Heaven could be man-made. The answer, I was informed, was the nails in the hands and feet of Jesus and the other wounds he endured at his crucifixion. SHOULD WE CELEBRATE EASTER? If you have been in any supermarket lately you may have noticed a wide selection of Easter Eggs. One can see not only Easter eggs, but chocolate bunnies, chicks, and delicious Easter cakes.  When I was younger, I was told that the hollow Easter Egg represented the “Empty Tomb.”  So what then of the bunny and the chick? Nobody could give an adequate answer.   Sadly, later in life I learned that these symbols have less to do with that great morning of the Resurrection and more to do with “Eostre.”  Eostre was an Anglo-Saxon goddess. She was the goddess of the dawn and spring. In the early middle ages they celebrated her feast days with eggs, bunnies/hare ornaments and round decorated cakes. She represented fertility and the end of winter. The idea of a goddess of spring dates back to very ancient times. The ancient Romans had the goddess Flora.
